The surface float switch of type GC PS1 is used in all of flammable liquids of all classes of dangerous (petrol, oil, spirit, acetone, oils, mercaptans).

Technical description of equipment

The switch is made in accordance to ČSN EN 50 014/1993, ČSN EN 50 018/1996 of stainlsess steel. The switch is intended to signalling and safety switching-off at a surface change of liquid a tank. A float with a magnet at falling of liquid under fix limit, will unpin first out of two reed contacts which signals a dangerous surface fall in a tank. At other surface fall of liquid in a tank comes unpinning of the second reed contact.
The switch is intended for switching of circuits in ZONE 2. Assuming nothing of mechanical straining. The connector cable must to be properly fixed after exiting out of the contact - maker by the lead-out HSK-M-Ex-d, KEMA 99 ATEX 6968 X.
Operational outdoor temperature - 5 °C up to + 55 °C.
The surface switch consists of two (three) reed relays. The reed relay of type BV 551 has got these technical parameters:

• max. switched tension: st. 200 V
• max. switched current: st. 0,5 A

Reed contacts are embedded into a stainless tube of outer diameter 8 mm. The stainless tube is on screw - coupling. The pressure test of stainless piping with a screw - coupling is provided by compressed air of 1 MPa. The liquid reservoir, in which a surface float switch is installed, can reply to ZONE 0.

Connection to outer circuits

The float switch is made with a connector cable of lenght max. 12 m of type BRAD HARRISSON P11-3 3GO, 34 MM2 300 V, PUR -5 °C up to +90 °C IEC 332-1. For connection to the control box OSEVP is used a connector cable of type SRO 4x 0,22 mm² of lenght max. 12 m. In accordance with requirements of consumer is possible to use various longitudes of connection cables up to 1 m.
